First Annual Orienteering Festival
August 14th, 10am - 1pm
Hosted by Florida Orienteering and the Florida Agricultural Museum. Come One, Come All. The smallest toddler to the more adventurous grandparent.  Open to everyone of all ages and experience levels. Come learn what orienteering is all about.  Try it for yourself by hiking the one mile, two mile, or three mile course of your choice.  See why orienteering is truly the “sport for a lifetime.”

Special reduced admission to the Florida Ag Museum grounds.  The orienteering event itself carries a separate map fee of $4 per entry.  In orienteering, your “entry” is the group that hikes together.  You may enter individually or as a group of as many as four.

Instructors will be on-site to explain how the game works, but they do not accompany you on the course. Dress for the weather. We go rain or shine! Bring plenty of water to drink while you hike. No pre-registration required. Just show up and have fun. There is no mass start at orienteering events; instead Entries are assigned a Start time on-site and are started at 2 minute intervals on each of the three courses offered, all within the 10:00 a.m. to 1: 00 p.m. window. There will be a 2-hour time limit at this event for each course, meaning all Entries must finish their hike and return to registration area within 2 hours of their Start time. The event ends at 3:00 p.m.  After your hike you’ll be able to enjoy the grounds, buildings and museum at the beautiful Florida Agricultural Museum.

For more information about orienteering and this event, visit the Florida Orienteering web site or call the Ag Museum.  WWW.FLORIDAORIENTEERING.ORG
